Saturday March 23 2013

We went into Yuma to pick up a few items from Sam's and the flea market. I called Judy to ask if they would come for dinner tonight as they are leaving tomorrow so I thought I would save them having to cook tonight. Judy asked me to pick up oven liners at Bed and Bath for them. I picked up hamburger, a fruit tray and salad items at Sam's, stopped by Bed and Bath and then we went to the flea market. I wanted to buy another jar of desert honey as I'm almost out of what I bought last week. It is such great honey and I have been using it in my coffee. It seems to help with my coughing as well. I read that eating local honey helps build your immune system to the allergies that you experience from the area. Don't know if it will help or not but I seem to be hanging onto whatever I have even though I've been to the doctor 2 times and am on my second round of antibiotics. We also took two bags of paper back books back to the book mart and got new books. The book exchange at the flea market is much cheaper than the one we went to in the foothills. After we left the market, we stopped by Walmart to grab a few additional items. It was 4:00 when we got home and I put a salad together and made fruit dip for the fruit I bought today. Ken, Judy and Jan came over around 6:00 and the weather was so beautiful we sat outside and had a beer before Larry grilled the burgers. We had a great meal and lots of wonderful conversation. They stayed quite awhile after dinner but they were very tired as they worked all day packing up and cleaning the park model to get ready to leave tomorrow. We are going to miss them so much as we have spent so much time with them since we've been here. There is hardly anyone left in the resort as each day several people leave. We are leaving on Wednesday but Illinois is still getting snow so may end up in California for longer than we planned if the weather doesn't cooperate.
