Monday March 4 2013
We went over to foothills and I had a banner made for Judy and Ken's 50th Anniversary, which is on Saturday March 9. While I was at the UPS store getting the banner printed, Larry walked over to Al's RV to look at water softners for the motor home. We have talked for quite sometime about buying a softner but the ones we have looked at in the past were pretty costly.
When I finished at UPS, I met Larry at Al's. He was talking to a salesman about the options for softners and the guy showed him the one he bought and has used for the past 8 years. It was small and compact and softens 300 gal of water between rejuvinations. The salesman highly recommended this softner and the wonderful part is that the price was under $200. We talked for a time about it and decided to purchase the softner. I can hardly wait to get a shower and shampoo my hair in soft water. My hair and skin suffer so badly when here because of the dry weather and the hard water.
We went by Walgreens to pick up my perscription and then went to Walmart for some needed items. After leaving Walmart, we went into Sam's in Yuma and had lunch at In-and-Out Burgers.
At Sam's I bought a bag of limes as Ken and I like lime in our beer. I split the bag and walked over to see Jan and Judy and to take Ken the limes I bagged for him. Jan has been very sick with a migraine since Sunday and was still suffering yesterday. Ken brought me a beer and then he decided to walk over and have his beer with Larry. Jan, Judy and I sat on the deck and talked for so long that Larry came over with Ken to drag me home. It was after 7:00 so we ended up eating chilli dogs for dinner.
The weather has cooled down some since Saturday. The temperature has been hanging around 80 degrees and has been pretty comfortable. Looks like Illinois is getting slammed with snow. I read on Facebook this morning that some of the schools were closed around Peoria. When I talked with Leslie yesterday morning, she said it was snowing and it was expected to snow through the night last night.
