I talked to Jan and Judy this morning and told them I had to go into Verizon in Yuma to see what the problems are with my phone. They have been wanting to go to Sam's and don't have a card so I had told them I would go with them. I asked if they were interested in going this morning and we made plans to go.
We drove two cars as the 3 of them had to stop at their bank to check on their Visa card. Larry and I drove on into the mall to Verizon. I walked into Verizon and told the guy my problem and he hit two buttons on the side of my phone and it powered up. He said sometimes the phone shuts down and this is the only way to power it back up. He told me there was not a defect in the phone and that if it happens again, I should be able to do the same thing to power it back. I was relieved beyond words that I did not have a bad issue with my phone. I really never think about how much I depend on it until it has a problem.
Larry decided to stop in at Master Cuts to get a hair cut. I need one but decided to wait another week and get mine cut just before we leave Yuma. While he was getting a hair cut, I walked over to Ross and bought a couple of bath rugs and a paper holder for the small bathroom. As I was leaving Ross, Jan called and said they were at Sam's and I told her we were on our way. As I walked to the car, Larry walked out of Master Cuts so the timing was perfect.
We all went into Sam's and the guys shopped around for awhile and decided to leave to drive back home. Jan, Judy and I continued shopping and by the time we were done, their cart was overflowing. They basically bought paper goods but spent about $150. They kept saying how cheap everything was as in Canada, they pay so much more for everything. They live about 5 hours north of Vancouver which is the closest place for them to find a Costco to do their shopping. I'm not sure how they will find room to transport it all back to Powell River.
The gals wanted to get home as they have been going to Art Cook's Computer Classes here in the resort. Before we came home, Jan won some dollies at the craft show a few week ago and we had to drive over to the Foothills to pick them up at a lady's house. We got back to the resort about 12:45 and Larry and I decided to go over to Parish's Bar for lunch.
I had my usual French Dip Sandwich and also had 2 Pacifico Beer. This is I think the first beer I have had for more than a week. I have been so sick with this stupid allergy thing that I have drank nothing but water.
The temperature was 97 degrees today. It has been in the mid 90's since Wednesday and is suppose to remain hot until about Monday. I am about ready for some cooler weather as I do not do 90's well.
