We have been on the move so much that our home projects are suffering badly. The weeds in the flower beds keep growing and the only flowers in the yard are the 'annuals' that just happen to return each year. No new items have found a place in our flower beds as that would require my efforts to plant and water. We returned from our winter months in Mesa, AZ on April 30, 2010 and have spent no more than 2 or 3 weeks without seeking the highways.
While in Mesa, we traded our 2 year old 5Th Wheel travel trailer for a motor home. The motor home was new but was a 2008 'holdover' that had sat in the Arizona sun for two years. Needless to say, everything that was glued, screwed or bolted had to have further attention. We spent two days at the Freightliner in Chandler, AZ having items fixed or replaced. We then took the motor home over to the dealership in Mesa and they spent another day correcting a majority of items on our list but did not have the parts to complete all. After arriving home we contacted the factory in Elkhart,IN and made arrangements to drive the motor home over and leave it for them to complete the repairs. We made the trip over and pulled the car, left the motor home and drove the car home. We then left two days later with Larry's brother and sister-in-law for our annual fishing trip to Canada.
We had a wonderful time in Canada. We rented a cabin at Red Lodge in Morson, Ontario and caught plenty of fish for eating there and brought our limit home.
After returning from Canada, we traveled back to Elkhart to pick up the motor home and bring it home.
We then left 10 days later and took Taylor, Morgan and Addison to Wisconsin Dells in the motor home. Spent five days there and also had a great time.
On July 5Th we are planning a two month trip to Alaska. We will be driving the motor home and pulling the car. We have spent our spare time getting all the items needed for the trip, such as a stone guard for the car, spare tire and rim and of course a gun for fighting off the bear!! Hopefully we will leave on schedule as we must be back by the first week of September for yet another trip to Florida with Larry's brother(Kevin), sister-in-law(Debby) and Debby's sister and spouse. So you can clearly see that this is a blog about the travels of the 'Rich and Famous'---NOT! We are not quite so rich and really not so famous.
