Tuesday March 4, 2014

We walked with the Jackson's again this morning. We have been walking about 2 miles a day since we arrived and it still kicks my butt most days. My 'replaced' knee continues to be sore most days when we walk. I keep thinking I just need to get the muscle built up but not sure if it is going to subside or not.

Came home and showered and got a call from Wanda and Dan Nelson wanting us to come over early this afternoon for drinks and then go to eat with them tonight. We left home about 3:45 but had a hard time finding the street where they have their RV parked. This town is the craziest place I've ever been in the way they name their streets. There is no rhyme or reasoning to the naming sequence. There is a street, avenue and lane for almost every street. They were located on 45th lane and of course we found everything but 'lane' in our search. We forgot to bring our GPS and I was trying to use the Navigator on my phone to find the right area. I have a hard time using it at times. We finally found the right street and had no problems finding the lot they were parked on. Also in the 'foothills' they have lots located in the middle of residential areas that are set up for RV's and the owners rent them quite cheaply. Dan and Wanda are paying $75 a week plus their electric verses $595 a month here and we also pay our own electric. The place they are parked is beautiful. It's all landscaped with stone and concrete all around the RV so it is so much cleaner than the gravel lot we are parked on here in Las Quintas. Next year we plan to try to find an RV lot rather than pay the prices here since we really don't use any of the facilities within the park.

We sat and had drinks and talked for almost 3 hours. We have always enjoyed being with Dan and Wanda. We met them last year when they were parked on the lot next to us here in the park. They are from Kamloops, Alberta, Canada. Wanda and I have kept in touch for the past year and I so enjoy her. Dan is just a very funny guy and makes a point of knowing everyone he comes in contact with. Last year when they were here, he was here more than home. He loves to set and talk and drink beer. Larry and Dan get along wonderfully and Wanda is also great to talk with.

We left their place about 6:45 and decided to go to Parish's Bar for dinner. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our meal.
