We showered and headed to Yuma to find the much needed ladder that Larry has been wanting. We went to Home Depot and he bought a 6 ft ladder and I bought a pot of pansies for the patio.
We talked to Dr. Don, the vet, and he suggested we feed Charlie kitten food to try to help him put on some weight. I looked at Walmart yesterday but they didn't have anything that was specifically for kittens. I looked up Petsmart and found there was one at the Yuma Mall so we stopped in and bought several cans of food and some vitamins for Charlie.
We drove back to the Foothills and decided to find 54th Street, which is where Herman and Correl, whom we met at the farm tour, have their motor home parked. We drove back east from where we are located and found their street and I think we found their motor home. We did not stop as it didn't appear they were home. This area is very strange as each street has a number of beautiful homes and in between are RV Lots. The RV lots are all privately owned and the one Herman and Correl are parked on they are renting. There were some very lavish set ups on the RV Lots, everything from screened in porches to large screen structures that people drive the motor homes into that provide shade over the top of the RV. I could not believe the mixture of structures on each street. There were homes that probably ranged in price from $150-300,000 and in between would be a park model, a motor home or a 5th wheel. Each of the RV Lots are set up with full hookups and I assume many are owned by snowbirds who come for 6 months and park on these lots. I would be hard pressed to pay the price for one of these homes and look out my window at an RV next door or across the street. The strange thing is that the streets were beautifully landscaped and very clean but just very hard to believe the city allows such a mixed bag in the ordinance.
We left this area and drove back to Frye's to pick up something to cook for dinner. As we went in they were barbecuing Ribs on large grills and selling to the customers. The store was packed, of course everyone was making their last minute Super Bowl runs. We picked up a few groceries and bought a rack of ribs to take home. We basically have been eating two meals a day so ended up having the ribs when we got home at 4:00.
Watched the Super Bowl game--at least Larry did. I'm not a big football fan so I watched off and on while I read. I think Larry and well as most of the viewing public was a little disappointed that NY ended up winning. As I said I personally could have cared less. The only thing that raises my blood pressure is when the Cubs are playing and loose--which is pretty much the norm for them! It won't be long now for me to start using my choice vocab as Spring Training starts in about two weeks. We will be in Mesa on March 1 to view the new team. I'm looking forward to seeing just what they have for the coming season--it certainly should be an improvement from the past!!
