Friday February 17, 2012

We had a very laid back and relaxing day today. We didn't even leave home and during the afternoon Ken came over and he and Larry sat on the patio all afternoon talking. I messed around on the internet most of morning and early afternoon. I had so many pictures on the camera that I decided to unload and copy onto my flash drive to free up space on the camera storage.

By the time I went outside the day had turned into a beautiful afternoon. The temperature was around 75 degrees and the wind was calm.  It seems that Yuma has it's share of windy days and many more than the Mesa area. When the wind is up, the temperature seems cool and not too enjoyable setting outside. The weather has been pretty cool the past week with the high around 65 to 70. I know my friends and family in the midwest would kill for a day of 65 right now but without the humidity, it still seems quite cool at times here.

Ken told me that Judy and Jan were at their weekly computer class that meets at the clubhouse here in the resort. He said they have been going for a few weeks now and each time they come home they try to apply something new to the PC and end up with nothing working properly! He also told us they were going to the clubhouse  on Thursday and Judy was driving. He told her 2 times to slow down as she was driving too fast. She told him she was going 20 mph and he said the speed limit in the park was 10 mph. She proceeded to argue with him but when they came back to their motor home, David our next door neighbor told her she was driving much too fast in the resort. David and Cynthia, his wife, are part of the 'security force' for the resort and I might say, David takes his duties pretty seriously! He would like to believe he is a modern day Barney Fife!

Later, Judy and Jan came home from their class and joined us to visit. I so  enjoy Judy as she reminds me of my dear friend Sandi! She has a ' take it or leave it attitude' and is so funny with all of her stories! I HAD to mention that I heard she was on probation for speeding within the park and she directed a look at Ken and said she KNEW he could not wait to tell us. We all teased her and had a good laugh about her being warned!

We ended up having a few beer and came inside about 5:30 to prepare dinner. Judy said they had not planned anything for dinner so they were going to make Ken --'the old tightwad'--take them to dinner. We cooked hamburgers on the grill and called it dinner!
