Saturday February 4, 2012

We cleaned house for awhile this morning and then went into Yuma to the flea market to return the pet cage we bought last week. When we bought the cage, the lady told us it was refundable if the cat's did not like. We have set it up several times and the only one willing to spend any time in it was Raven. He was not the happiest of campers but at least he did not growl and whine when we put him in it. We decided it was a costly item for one cat.

Before we went to the outdoor market, we went back to the indoor flea market to sell some paperback books that we have already read. When we were there 2 weeks ago, the owner told us he bought paperbacks and gave credit for purchases of different books. We sold him 5 books and bought 5 new books and it costs us $5, so not a bad way to have something new to read.

We found our way back over to the outdoor flea market and returned the pet cage. Both the lady and her husband that own the shop were very nice about returning the cage. I was glad to get a refund as it was rather costly and since no one really was crazy about it was good to get rid of. We walked around the market for awhile trying to find a vendor we saw last week who had a wonderful sauce for hamburger. We checked several of the isles of vendor's and in the process, Larry started talking to a guy selling remote helicopters. He has wanted one for awhile now so I left him to check them out and I walked down to a vendor selling Jojoba Oil(pronounced Hohoja). I had read about this as being a much harvested item here in Yuma. It is made from the seeds of  a Jojoba plant that grows wild in the dessert. I read that it is widely used in skin lotions and cosmetics. I talked to the guy selling the oil and he told me what all it was good for. I sampled it and it was amazing how it made my skin feel. It is oily when you put it on and within minutes it disappears into the skin and makes your skin feel smooth and soft. He said it is excellent for dry skin which I normally have but in Arizona it is  extremely bad. I bought a small bottle to try and went back to find Larry.

The helicopter won Larry over and he purchased a small one. It's mainly meant to fly inside but if the wind is calm, can also be flown outside. Wow, I'm thinking the cats are going to LOVE this--NOT! We walked through one of the first isles of vendors again and finally found the sauce man. We sampled both the regular flavor and the hot and spicy flavor and decided on both. The hot one is not really so hot and really gives the hamburger a nice zing!

We left the flea market and went to Logan's for a very late lunch-early dinner as I was starved. We split a rack of ribs and had a salad. It was half-price happy hour so we each had a large beer with our dinner.

We made our needed stop at Walmart for a few items and made our way home at about 6:00.
