Thursday April 4 2013
We left West Windover around 8:00am. We traveled all day again and ended up in Rock Springs, WY. We are again staying at a KOA which is ok but the camp sites are nothing but dirt basically. We do have a pretty view out the back of camp ground as there is a small mountain range. I guess it is more like Mesa's as they are rather flat on the top.
We went up to the KOA Office and talked to the two couples who are camp workers here. They were all giving us different ideas about where to go for dinner. They were very friendly and told us a bit about their families and how they enjoy doing the camp worker thing. Larry and I have talked about doing a few months as camp workers just to see how we enjoy it. We checked into some of the state parks but never made a decision about doing it. It seems our summers are packed with things going on so not sure when we would work it in. Possibly if we ever sell the house we would have more time to do a few of these things that we always talk of doing.
We decided to go to Appleby's for dinner. Larry had a steak and I had chicken pasta--neither was very good but that's Appleby's. We never have the same experience at different restaurant locations around the US as they are all different. We had a very cute waitress and she talked to us a lot. She was from Turkey and was an exchange student here in Rock Springs. She ended up marrying a guy from the area and told us how much she hates living in Rock Springs. She told us how beautiful Turkey is and encouraged us to travel there sometime.
We left Appleby's and went down to Walgreens. I have a prescription that I'm almost out of. When I went in to have it refilled, they told me I had no more refills left and would have to contact my doctor. Great--hopefully I can get in touch with Dr. Couri early tomorrow morning and can get the refill approved and filled so we can pick it up early before we leave town.
We came back to the motor home and the temperature had really dropped and the winds had picked up. We have been wearing our shorts pretty much since leaving Yuma as the temperature has been in the mid 50's to 60's with sunny days. I'm thinking tomorrow may be a day to dig out long pants as it is very cool tonight.
